Kathmandu, March 23: Bhutanese Community Support Organization in America (BASCO) said today in a press statement that the concept to form a new organization in California was evolved after the Bhutanese in the state concurred that there is a need, purpose reason to form a new organization to lead the Bhutanese people and establish a foundation of trust in the community.
Making clear that BASCO is not a political organization, the statement further reads “it is also not just another belligerent organization formed as usual. It is created with general consensus not to divide but to unite the already fractured community. Under the difficult situation, doing nothing was not an option; therefore the best bet was in the new beginning. BASCO is an organization deemed necessary based on reality of the status quo in our community for last few years. It is a united effort of most Bhutanese in the spirit of unity, hope and optimism.”
The statement further said that BASCO was formed to alleviate many difficulties and sufferings of resettling Bhutanese, empower and encourage them to the brighter side and help them become productive citizens in near future.
