- Bhutan ranks 142nd position in Doing Business Report
| Posted: 05 Nov 2010 07:05 AM PDT Bhutan Media Society, which has been airing weekly radio magazine Saranarthi Sarokar from Kathmandu-based Nepal FM Network and Ganatantra FM, Dharan has started Online Deusi Dhamaka on the occasion of Tihar. (Click here to link to Dhamaka) The Deusi Dhamaka is aimed at conducting fundraising through deusi songs of the Sarnarnarthi Sarokar Unit for continuation of broadcast of the radio program from Dharan, which is completing its one year air-service this month. According to Ichha Poudel, the editor of Radio Bhutan Online, the support for airing from Ganatantra FM which it has been receiving from Ganga Baral and Khagendra Baral from Arizona (USA) is getting over by this month. “The response regarding continuation of the program is generous from the Bhutanese community,” Poudel said, “However, unless we get support from our well-wishers, we will be compelled to stop airing from this month.” Meanwhile, BMS has stated that the fund collected from the Dhamaka will also be used to construct a separate Nepali site for Bhutan News Service targeting the resettled folks who are unable to read English news. | Posted: 05 Nov 2010 05:10 AM PDT Goldhap camp organised a week-long intra-sector football match, whose final was held Friday. Altogether, eight different teams participated from four sectors of the camp. Sector A defeated sector D in penalty shoot-out. The winner received a cash prize of Rs 3700 and the loser 2500, the organiser informed Bhutan News Service. | Bhutan ranks 142nd position in Doing Business Report Posted: 05 Nov 2010 01:05 AM PDT Bhutan has been ranked at the 142th position in the Doing Business report which was jointly by the World Bank and International Finance Corporation on Thursday. India is ranked at 134th position and Nepal 116th, the report mentioned. The report added that the five-year measure of cumulative change reflects that doing business has become easier in Bhutan, India, Bangladesh, Maldives and even Afghanistan. |
