| Flood affects Golhap residents Posted: 22 Jun 2010 08:58 AM PDT The incessant rain, which resulted to flood, in eastern region of Nepal has badly affected camp residents in Goldhap camp. Our Goldhap correspondent reported that the nearby bridge that connects camp has been swept away. People undergoing their resettlement process at the Damak-based office of International Organization for Migration have been stranded in camp. According to our correspondent, movements outside of the camp have been entirely obstructed due to destruction of the bridge. |
| Acharya withdraws from treasurer position Posted: 21 Jun 2010 07:19 PM PDT Tika Acharya has withdrawn from the position of treasurer of the Organization of Bhutanese Communities in America (OBCA). "It was agreed by the house that treasurer position offered to me by the general consensus was supposed to be effective only after having approval from the Bhutanese Community of New Hampshire," said Acharya, adding that he was socked to read a news that stated the confirmation of his nomination to the position of treasure. Acharya has further said that he will be able to work more effectively for OBCA as independent volunteer consultant. |
